2021.12.07 21:02 pterodactylkorma Merrell Moab 2 Mid GTX?
Hello, I'm looking to replace my knackered old Meindl Burmas with some lighter boots, ideally fabric ones. I really like the look and fit of the Merrell Moab 2s and was wondering if anyone had any experience of them?
How durable did you find them/how long did they stay waterproof?
I am looking to do the Cape wrath trail next year and so they will probably be getting very wet.

2021.12.07 21:02 PlasticSummer How can we improve design in healthcare?
| Hi all, |
I am a practicing Occupational Therapist and researcher. There is a huge issue in my industry with the abandonment of assistive technologies by the users. Much of the research currently points to issues with design, and as a result, I would love the design community to weigh in on this issue. While you may not currently work in health design, your opinion matters to push that design such as design thinking, user centred design and human centred design can be implemented.
To get this done, I need to prove there is a need to the industry and government. If you have 10-15 minutes, please help with the below survey (link or QR code).
Your help and feedback is immensely appreciated! Thank you!

2021.12.07 21:02 WanderingRonin-XIII Zen Conversations [Chapter 1: Introduction and Origins]
I've decided to try out a different sort of post for the awakened community that I think you all will hopefully find interesting and informative. A few days back, a member here named u/toibie noticed my work in the forum and inquired by direct message for some instructions and pointers on Zen. toibie gave permission to post the ongoing conversations we've been having, and I think this is a very interesting way to see Zen from both the perspective of someone with years of experience in it and also the perspective of someone entirely new to it.
I'll be publishing these conversations here in the forum over the next few weeks as an ongoing series, and thanks again to toibie for giving permission to post our direct messages. Please make sure to follow me as a user if you like this post so you don't miss future installment of the series, and please feel free to ask any questions you'd like in the comments.
toibie: Hi I just saw your post in awakened from about a few hours ago and I was wondering what your view is on how to walk the path of spirituality and awakening. How do I know what could be a right path? I am just curious as I am quite new to this and your post made me think on how to approach it. Thanks in advance anyway, also for the eye opening post it made me more critical towards the claims everyone is making.
Ronin: You've definitely come to the right person! haha. The most direct path towards spirituality and awakening can go by many different names and means, but it is ALWAYS going to lead directly back to your very own mind. Zen is a far quicker and more direct path than most, I've found. It cuts away preconceived notions and delusions as directly and as quick as you'd like. I've studied Zen for over thirty years if you'd like some instruction and pointers. The "wrong" or slower and less fruitful paths are anything that leads you away from your own mind, such as gurus or organized religion. Those get in the way of progress because they are a distraction away from mind.
toibie: Thank you for your response! I have read a little about Zen but don’t know very much about it. So some instruction and pointers are very welcome :) I was thinking of looking for a guru or something but you think that is not the best way to go for ?
Ronin: A very good book to start with is On the Transmission of Mind by Zen master Huangbo Xiyun [died 850?]. I'll give you a link for a free online version...
toibie: Also I have been using a meditation app (waking up), do you think medition apps can be useful or should you just stay with your mind and learn it yourself? That would be great thank you.
Ronin: I've never had any experience with meditation apps, but I would probably recommend against those. Here's the link: Terebesshttps://terebess.hu/zen/huangboBlofeld.html It should take a few days or a week to read, and you are probably going to have a LOT of questions haha. I'll be here as sort of a guide for you, and you should always feel free to ask me whatever you'd like.
toibie: Thank you so much! I will dive into it this week and will come back with any questions :) really appreciated!
Ronin: And a guru is not really the way to go, because again, that's looking AWAY from mind. The best that a good teacher can do is only ever point you back towards your own mind. And no problem at all, always glad to help out.
toibie: Yes thanks for the advice on that as well, I am just figuring out how to find my path and there are so many "options" and different people saying different things. I just followed my intuition and approached you directly as it felt right (I normally don’t do this) so I am happy to figure out how it wil help me :)
Ronin: Very good, very good! Intuition, that subtle ancient voice, wll never lead you astray. So what are you looking for with this path of spirituality, my friend?
toibie: I’m not really sure what I am looking for. I would say to figure things out and try to understand who I am and what the meaning is of all. To be "awakened". But I am not sure if it is good to strive for something like that or just to "enjoy" the path and see what it brings. But spirituality has always drawn me to it, but I think it is hard in current society to dive into it because of all the expectations and stuff. I’m now figuring out that that society that is exactly what might be holding me back but it is also hard to let go completely.
Ronin: We'll have to get to know each other better over time, and I've got to "see what you're made of" and what you can handle regarding the truth. It's tough to convey, but you should just do what comes naturally for you on the path whether it is striving or sitting back and enjoying the ride. For me it was a matter of life and death, so I took it seriously and had to move fast. And don't worry too much about society, because society certainly isn't worried about you! haha
toibie: We will get there, I am open to anything. I will try to continue following my intuition and will see what this path brings me. That sounds like a though ride. I am happy you figured it out and are still alive and happy now. May I ask how you walked your path and how it started? Yeah I have to remind me to not worry so much about it as society doesn’t. But it is hard when your friends and family are on a different level (I mean they see things differently) and i (feel like) I cannot talk about it. But I am determined to figure "it" out.
Ronin: I first came to the path of Zen at around fifteen or sixteen, and I suffered greatly because of a bad upbringing. I knew that attaining 'enlightenment' was the way to wisdom and lead away from suffering, so I followed Zen earnestly. I started with the wrong book, Roshi Philip Kapleau's The Three Pillars of Zen, which was good because it provided discipline and structure, but the REAL Zen is from the original historic sources like the link I gave you. And the internet is great in order to find like-minded people, and sometimes people who can help out! haha. The 'solution' to your friends and family again is towards your very own mind, but we'll get to that when you're ready. ;)
toibie: Yes for sure and we can learn from the people that walked the path before us (for instance on starting with the right books :) I also feel like this path is the way to enlightenment but everywhere you read about letting go of achieving things likes this which is like a paradox to me. But I think the answer is indeed in the mind as it is also making me question the path I walk and assumptions on right / wrong ways and so. Thank you so much again for helping me out and wanting to help on my journey :) Did you find these books and teachings on your own or did you also have someone help you finding it out a little?
Ronin: No problem at all, and always glad to help out! I'm sort of a lone wolf, so I had no one to help me out at all until much, much later.
toibie: Has it been a difficult journey? (I can imagine) I think it’s great that you did take this path by yourself and "figure it all out". Do you have any advice besides reading the book first that I can try or implement in my life? And another question , where are you from actually ? :)
Ronin: I almost hate to rush you along, but you asked for it so I'll answer... since the path is your own to decide, YOU decide whether it will be a difficult or an easy one. Mine was hugely difficult but far faster than most, because I was after enlightenment directly. As far as advice on where to begin, simply look towards your own mind as often as you'd like. Observe it at all times, watching the thoughts and where those thoughts lead to. Try not to get tangled up in or bound by the thoughts. The Way is a lot like being at the calm center of a storm, and once you identify it you'll know it when you feel it and it won't leave. I'm from the United States, and you? :)
toibie: yes I understand, but I am also curious on the experiences from others. But I know that in the end in depends all on me and my own mindset. thank you for the tips that is already quite helpfull and I already do it sometimes because of meditation. I am from the Netherlands :) I think I am also really looking for it and I am hoping to get there. Why do you think most people say you should not look for it but let it all be and then it will happen?
Ronin: People say a lot of things... saying "you should not look for it but let it all be and then it will happen" is pretty good, but I would recommend to just do what your intuition tells you. If you want to search for it, then search! I searched earnestly, but then it all happened for me. But it can happen without as much of a search, and you should have an easier time of it since I can help guide you from what I've learned. :)

2021.12.07 21:02 derpyderpderp27 50mf ammy
Got lucky and gambled this 50mf ammy. I've had a couple of people suggest it's possible value, but the range is huge. Keen to sell it but have had no luck on discord, and recently started using d2jsp but only low ball offers. Only being able to trade through Switch or PSN is a pain.. Anyone interested? 50mf Ammy
